what's my music taste???? good question!

helloooo

heres a specific page where i get to rant about the music i like :3

as discussed in my main page, i have lots of different genres i like.

i'm especially obsessed with nu metal at the moment, which is what got me into CD collecting actually

anywaysss here's like most of my favourite artists in a big list

GLASS BEACH

plastic death

this isn't the first album i listened to from them. it was actually glass beach!! (or is it self-titled...?) thats how i discovered them

now i know theres lots of mixed opinions about this; at least from people i know, but this is their best album yet!!!

i love love LOVE commatose. don't get me started on that, one of my favourite songs of all time;

i actually got inspired to make a poem that uses some stuff from it; its the first poem in my glossary page.

favourite songs from the album;

coelacanth

slip under the door

the CIA

commatose

motions

MINUANO

spring lover

truly wonderful. the singers voice is incredibily pleasent, it soothes me and my heart

i think anyone who listens to lamp should listen to this album; i really want it on CD

the acoustic guitar is catchy and i like the instruments chosen a lot!

favourite songs from the album;

nightfall town

winter of dawn

afternoon minuet

paper moon

fun fact. this is their first song i listened to while i was on laughing gas. it was nice

ILKAE

bring extra dragons

very peppy and energetic album. bager made me listen to ilkae and now i can never go back

a bit experimental cuz it is idm! i enjoy it very much. ilkae has a very unique style when it comes to making music

the album throughout is very fun; compared to most of ilkae's music that feels more broody and tad dark. listen to it when you can

favourite songs from the album;

soda's theme

motto hiryuu mottekutte kudasai

scarlet

exit theme & victory march

equate with oxen

konkon

for some reason some of the songs mentioned aren't uploaded on his bandcamp. i remember listening to equate with oxen while having a kidney stone lol

NOTABLE ARTISTS I LIKE IN THE PIANO/EXPERIMENTAL FIELD THAT I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD LISTEN TO

STEVE REICH: Stephen Michael Reich is an American composer best known as a pioneer of minimal music in the mid to late 1960s.[3][4][5] Reich's work is marked by its use of repetitive figures, slow harmonic rhythm, and canons.

notable music i like from steve reich: city life (all movements but i especially love 1st, 2nd and last one) and also six marimbas

WHA-HA-HA: Not much information on this at the moment

notable music i like from wha-ha-ha: inanaki, on the floor

PICKY PICINC: Picky Picnic is a Japanese band from the 80s, part of that same movement that musically united The Residents, Renaldo & The Loaf, Der Plan over the distances. They made a specialty of "family" choruses, as if recorded in their kitchen at lunch time. A visual equivalent could be the "My Neighbours The Yamada" anime, which brings as much poetry through false simplicity.

notable music i like from picky picnic: hontokana?, sume ba miyako happy family, aischu no melody

ERIK SATIE: Eric Alfred Leslie Satie was a French composer and pianist. In the view of the Oxford Dictionary of Music, Satie's importance lay in "directing a new generation of French composers away from Wagner‐influenced impressionism towards a leaner, more epigrammatic style".

notable music i like from erik satie: vexations, trois morceaux en forme de poire, le poisson reveur

Takashi Yoshimatsu: to a disappeared pleiad, and the birds are still...

Chen Yu-Peng: 8 etudes (2017)

Austin Gentry: piano sonata 4 (2023), piano sonata 5 (2023)

would you like to go back?
